No major announcements were made today for the Nintendo Wii. We have not heard any finalization on the wiimote controller, nor have we heard of any ground breaking title to be released with the next-gen console. What we have heard, is more rumors and some geeky stuff about the hardware in the Wii console.
First, the rumor mill is starting again with Mobile Magazine. Their site content has been picked up by Google and used as official news, but apparently all they can say about the Wii is more rumors. Their latest article states that Nintendo has received over 200,000 complaints about the name switch from the Revolution to the Wii. Citing that the name was too easily moched(sp?) and was just plain silly. Rumor has it that Nintendo is considering yet another name change in response to these hate mails. lol and a pfffffft
As far as real news, there has been an announcement of some third party vendors supplying the memory that will be used in the Wii console. The brain of the Wii will utilize 1T-SRAM technology for it’s memory demands. All the geeks say this will help the ATI graphics processor, HOLLYWOOD, to be higher performance and much faster. Sweet.
Based on the news that we’ve been provided with today I think I’m gonna start my own rumor about the Wii tomorrow. (/applies thinking cap) If you have any Wii rumor ideas please leave a comment here.
