The internet is known for it’s wide speculation on release dates for popular consumer products such as the Nintendo Wii. The latest in the onslaught is the supposed launch date for the Nintendo Wii. Keep in mind that any date given by any site is still pure speculation and according to ClubSkill.com that date is October 2nd.
The October 2nd launch date for the Wii is arrived at by skeptical and hopeful elimination. The dates were provided by Nintendo in a press release covering their Nintendo DS game release date sin the 4th quarter, but not once mention the Wii.
The fourth quarter begins on October 1. Now look at the list. At least one game is released every Monday in the fourth quarter except for the following dates: October 2, November 20 and November 27. November 27 is after Black Friday, so it’s out. November 20 is after the launch of the PS3, so that’s out too. That leaves us with October 2.
Again, this is nothing more than another Nintendo Wii rumor. No doubt the fans are scraping for Wii news as of late, since no other major announcements have been made. The only non-rumor news to come out of Nintendo lately has been focused on their Nintendo DS lite.
There are more launch date rumors floating around, especially since Nintendo has been so vague with their reportings. Kotaku.com has an article indicating that the next-gen system may be released on November 3rd. They base these findings on the fact that EA sports announced the release of their next NFS game for November 3rd. By itself it means nothing, but Nintendo has said that they wish to release the system before the PS3, this date is one week prior.
Therefore, hold tight, no official launch date for the Wii has been announced yet. However, we know that it will be in the 4th quarter of 06, so look for something official soon.
