During the lull of official Nintendo Wii news and lack of nail-biting rumors, writers are forced to create news. Unfortunately for the Wii, this news is typically negative and degrades the promising system. This is especially true for this weekends Wii headlines.
Perhaps you’ve read the stories about Haze not being produced for the Nintendo Wii. The graphically intensive and adult rated game will not be ported to our beloved system. However, is this anything to be all negative about? From the beginning it’s been stated by Nintendo that they aim to be the second system in everybody’s home…not the first or only. Therefore it stands to reason that not all games will be ported to this unique systme.
The Wii is a different kind of console, not created to hang in the same field as the Xbox360, nor the upcoming PS3. So why do industry analysts, fanboys, and jaded gamers keep comparing the 3. The Wii is designed to be family friendly and fit perfectly in any households living room. Adult rated war games with HD graphics would not be welcome in a fun loving living room. This is not to say that there will not be Mature rated games, but the focus is not on graphics, nor porting every developers action game, rather to bring the fun.
Nintendo has always focused on more ‘Child Like’ video games. I’m not saying the games are easy, rather they are geared toward a gaming audience wanting to have fun playing, not just be amazed at the high-end graphics.
Enough with the eyecandy systems and enough with the Nintendo news sites complaining about not getting Haze ported over. The Wii will have games that no other console can handle, not because of graphics, but because of that funky fun controller.
