According to IGNIQ.com, Opera is making its browser available for free to those who purchase a Wii. The console web browser will not be preinstalled, but will be readily available for free download via the online Wii Shop. Although it will not be permenantly free, it is free for use until sometime in July of 07.
Opera web browser is known for it’s use on many different products, not just a desktop PC. Currently the Opera web browser is available for mobile phones, Sony Mylo, and the Nintendo DS to name a few. For a complete list of what Opera runs on, check out their website.
Bringing experience to the table will help get the Wii online browser off the ground. The navigation will utilize the wiimote and make surfing the web easier and faster than traditional windows. Look forward to custom Wii browsing for free, at least until July.
