Unfortunately the supply of Nintendo Wii’s has not been enough to keep up with demand going into the Holidays. However, there is still light at the end of the tunnel as retailers promise on a daily basis that trucks are still coming in, but what about before Christmas? Fear not, Wal-Mart has announced in a recent circular that they will be selling the Nintendo Wii for $249.92 and that it will be available on Dec. 6th.

I believe this is in the US only. In regards to a midnight launch, possibly but probably just news of an increase in stocking quantities.

Just called my local walmart, they’re going on sale at 8am on the 6th

  9. mahoseph on December 5th, 2006 8:02 am

Ok well on the 6th supposedly every walmart will have at least 3 wiis. I have read some stuff about some stores having upwards of 20 but prob just rumors. Yes they will be available on the walmart site but what i want to know is when they will hit the site. The ones in the stores are not selling until 8AM, will it be the same online or will it be midnight? Whatever time it is, is it in east coast time or west coast time also. I figure that ill have more luck online, not to mention early morning lines in 20 something degree weather doesnt sound very good right now.

I just called two of our Wal-Mart stores (I’m close to the home office). One store said they’re getting 6 of them and there’s already bunches of people in line!! They don’t go on sale for another 8 1/2 hours! The other store couldn’t tell me how many they’re getting and there’s a few people already waiting.

  14. Sean on December 6th, 2006 6:38 am

Can someone confirm if this is the US only or for Canada? Saw some asked but no real answer.

  15. Lucky on December 6th, 2006 12:13 pm

It didn’t show on the Walmart website for the Nintendo Wii. Can anybody tell me where can I buy Nintendo Wii in Canada now, please?

  16. shane on December 6th, 2006 1:51 pm

This is pissing me off…..Walmart released 30 here this am, but folks were allowed to line up last nite….by 5am this morn, there were 47 people there for 30 wii. Some folks would get denied credit, and not be able to purchase….I have funds….why can’t I prepurchase one and get it when it arrives instead of waiting in WM for 7 friggin hours? I have 2 kids and work…good luck to me to ever make it to one of these launches. How bout walmart stock a few daily for first come first serve or hand out prepaid vouchers……My kid may be getting his wii in january instead of christmas….

According to the Walmart flyer, there would be a “minimum of 3 per store.” After an aggravating early morning at Walmart, I can tell you that one Walmart in my town didn’t have any Wii’s for sale at all. The other Walmart in town did have a Wii for sale, but someone was already waiting for it. Yep, that’s it. ONE Wii.

  18. Dusty on December 6th, 2006 2:21 pm

Sat in line at walmart at 130am this morning and my walmart only had 3!!! I sat in 9 deg weather and got SCREWED!

  20. Erin on December 6th, 2006 6:13 pm

The Walmart here only got nine in and there upwards of eighty people in line at 6am. The people that got them all had been in line since midnight the night before.

  21. Lucky on December 6th, 2006 6:34 pm

I just ordered a Nintendo Wii console bundle from this website,http://www.travel-coolers.com/ I am so glad they still have it on stock. They also can delievery to Canada, since I live in Canada. I thought I should share this great information with anyone who wants to get the Nintendo Wii.

  22. agrtier on December 6th, 2006 7:16 pm

checked walmart website all night. they didn’t have any wii’s. probably have to buy a wii on ebay now…

  23. tone on December 6th, 2006 8:27 pm

Wal-Mart’s shipments of Wii’s have been disappointing. However, going straight to eBay may not be the answer, some Targets and BestBuys are still receiving regular shipments of 40-50 at a time.

Not sure why Wal-mart is getting skimped on.

  24. Got Screwed by Walmart on December 7th, 2006 12:47 am

2 separate walmart associates told me they received 16 units on November 30th. They actually came from the stock room after counting them for me. They stated they couldn’t sell any because of the advertised flyer date of Dec 6th. They said the item was not even in the computer so it couldn’t be sold. I showed up this morning at 5:30 with 9 people in line( I was number 9). We waited for 2 hours in the cold and the 3 store employees came out and said they had eight. 1 hour earlier an associate said they only had 6. What happened to the other 8? What a joke this is but par for the course for Walmart…..the only good policy they have is their return policy which is necessary when all you sell is crap. Cooler=crap, garden hose=crap, canopy=crap, summer water sprayer=crap….It’s easy to sell cheap when you sell garbage. Mom always says, “if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys”. Walmart=Zoo Keep your nintendo

  25. walmart sucks on December 7th, 2006 7:52 am

walmart only gets a few units because they can’t get a good deal from nintendo and they don’t make any more $ on stuff like video game systems then any one else does. they only sell enough to get lines of people into their store to buy other things as well. How many people waited in line and got snacks and drinks while they were there. thats where Walmart gets their money. unfortunatly for losers like us we will still be calling our local walmarts and every other place that might sell a wii until we get one… oh wait that might not be until march!!

  26. They do this every holiday on December 7th, 2006 8:16 pm

I was told by a Sam’s club associate that the amount of Wii OR PS3’s are determined by the percentage of games each store sells throughout the year/month.

Example:If a Walmart sells 70% and Target 65% of that area’s games while Sam’s club or EB Games sells only 30% Of course WalMart and Target will get a larger shipment& each shipment is a different amount they will be delivering. So go where they sell the most games people.

I have decided that I will wait until after the holidays and hopefully they will have larger shipments. My first childs birthday is in July so I have time but I thought if I ran into one that would be great too but I refuse to pay the EBay prices.

    Good Luck Everybody!

  31. Sameer on December 13th, 2006 12:12 am

I am really pissed off they say the next shipment is going to be in march when I called Sam Goody,Walmart, and Sears….Is this true or are they just messing with me?And plus i want 1 for christmas tho I doubt Im going to get one by then..

  32. tone on December 13th, 2006 9:03 pm

Huh, that’s the first that I’ve heard until March!

I was notified by a local Wal-mart grunt that they were expecting a large shipment in either Friday or Saturday.
