Last week you may remember a story from GamePro siting that Nintendo will not offer any online games until 2008. Today, according to TechnewsWorld.com, it looks like they were wrong!
Nintendo Wii Latest News about Wii owners will be able to do battle against each other online for the first time beginning in June, after partnering with a company that specializes in multiplayer gaming technology.
Xbox 360 owners and to some extent PS3 owners have enjoyed playing multiplayer via the systems online capabilities. The Wii has an always conected feature, via wireless broadband, but has been limited in functionality. For now, it looks like Wii owners are left to paid-download content, weather, and news, but multiplayer coming sooner than we originally thought.
According to TechNewsWorld.com the number of Wii games offering online multiplayer will be slim. First Person Shooter fans don’t get your hopes up just yet, it looks like Pokemon Battle Revolution will be the first title available. It should be noted that none of the existing titles will be modified to allow multiplayer experiences. (Enjoy your Wii sports with close friends…for now. ;))
