There is no arguing the fact that the Nintendo Wii has been a runaway success since it’s launch. Routinely systems can be found selling for $400+ on sites such as eBay and third party vendors through Amazon. As in all other facets of life, the one at the top gets picked on the most and today Rodman of Microsoft had a few things to say.

“We don’t feel like the Wii customer and the Xbox customer are the same thing,” he said. “We think that as soon as the Wii customer turns 14 they want something else.”

I recently turned 26 and love playing my Nintendo Wii, but I also own an Xbox 360. Rodman seems to be confused with Nintendo’s marketing strategy if they think that their customers and Nintendo’s customers are two different groups of people. I own a 360, play a 360, own a Wii, play a Wii, own a gaming PC, and play PC games. I AM A GAMER.

What an idiot.

The biggest complaint I have about the Wii is the fact of Nintendo holding on to them and controlling the disbursment like some type of crack dealer.I hope Nintendo chokes on this method of controlling the desire for it. Trying to keep the rush for the WII up. Hopefully everyone gets tired of looking for it and Nintendo losses their *&# over it.

I’m not so sure Nintendo is holding onto them, it just happens to be where the market is. For example, I found Wii’s in NY by the skid full at a Toys R Us, but in Southern Indiana they are still no where to be found.

I think it’s a luck of the draw and them still struggling to keep stock full.

Wii’s are hard to come by here where I live. PS3’s are the ones sitting here collecting dust. It took a months from its release date for me to see a PS3 in display that actually….works? Unless of course they kept that machine off while the other systems where playable. I own both 360 and Wii simply cuz it had games I wanted to play and I could afford them. Plus I’m 24 and still not tired of either systems. Doubt I will anytime soon.

Thanks for the comment GamerGirl, sounds like we are in a similar boat.

It should be noted that I saw my very first Wii (only 1) setting in a Wal-Mart last night. This was the first I had seen ever freely available to the next person who showed up.

I saw a few Wiis on the shelves a month ago, but it seems like they are becoming almost impossible to find again.

New Zelda Wii in the Works

No Wii Price Cut For Holidays
It's routine for gaming manufacturers to drop the price of consoles 1 year after their release for the holidays. Already the PS3 has dropped it's price and the Xbox360 has lowered their main console bundle by $50. Although routine, it would appear it's necessary to keep up with the runaway

A better brighter Wii with small price tag for 2007?
Some rumors, and we must stress rumors have been going around that have been leaked from a Toys-R-Us store manager about some changes coming to the Nintendo Wii for the next year. Two things shall be changing, the first will be that the Wii will be able to be brought
