Wii For Easter

Did the Easter Bunny leave you a Wii in your basket?Wii Easter Sales

According to GameIndustry.biz at least a few of you did, to the tune of 25,000 units, and that’s with shortages. Those figures slap the face of PS3 and Xbox 360, with 17,000 and 11,000 respectively.

“Last week was Wii’s third biggest sales week since launch. Everything we are shipping, we are selling,” said a Nintendo spokesperson. “Demand for the console is clearly huge and is exceeding supply…We are doing everything we can to get as much stock out there as possible.”

“Easter was the catalyst for the spike in sales,” he continued, explaining the upsurge. “It’s a traditional gifting week and that was definitely a contributing factor, along with the fact that there was more stock than usual.”

Essentially, there are a lot of kids giving thanks to Jesus for their new Nintendo Wii system. ;)
