Tired of always having to turn to brand X to play Guitar Hero? Fear not, Activision has announced they will be bringing Guitar Hero 3 to the Nintendo Wii. According to the press release it looks like it won’t be just a new play list, but a new game with a ton of new features.
On the list:
- New Battle Mode
- Boss Battles
- Lots More Unlockable Content
- Authentic Venues
- Compete Head-to-Head via Online
- Exclusive Wireless Guitars with Removable Face Plates
Neversoft, also creators as such games as the Tony Hawk series, are the ones behind the method in the madness.
“The development team at Neversoft has been exceptional, and we’ve been able to incorporate a host of fresh new online and multi-player game play modes, along with exciting content into this version of Guitar Hero that our fans have been asking for. Also, many of the top bands and songs we’ve tried to get in the past are now on board, and we’ve definitely got some giant aces in the hole to say the least,” said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane. “In addition, offering a new line of Gibson wireless guitars for each platform is going to truly add to the authentic rock star experience like no other.”
I didn’t notice a potential release date in the press release, but my instincts tell me a Christmas release. Guitar Hero’s success has been routinely compounded and spawned new PS2 sales since it’s launch. Hell, I’m excited at the potential to rock out with my buddies online. Rock on Wayne!
