By now you’ve heard the buzz surrounding Nintendo’s latest Wii treat, the Wii Fit. The next evolutionary trend with the Nintendo Wii, because it’s not good enough to just look like an idiot flailing your arms, now we gotta have a foot pad. :)

Will I lose any weight? Will I tone my muscles? If the answer is yes to either of these then I’m all for it.

A fitness pro in Canada thought it was such a great idea that he is already incorporating elements of Wii Sports into their workout routines. Having workout stations setup in front of TV’s a person can punch/swing/jump with Wiimote in hand.

This is the first instance Nintendo has heard of the Wii being used in an actual Gym setting. However, with the upcoming Wii Fit and a nation of fat people I’m sure it will be a hit.

Meanwhile, a study conducted by Liverpool John Moores University found that regular use of the console could burn up to 1830 calories a per week.
