API is a fancy schmancy acronym used to describe a programming interface used by hardware and/or software applications. Recently, Opera released the API for the Wiimote, but does it really effect you and me? YES!
Since this API will be released it will enable web developers to create sites designed in a way that will enable users to interact with their Wiimote. This will still require the use of the Opera browser in the Internet channel, but brings to light a ton of possibilities. Some of which include FREE games, web 2.0 apps designed to work specifically with the wiimote, and many more.
Expect the proverbial poop to hit the fan and stuff start funneling out soon. This sort of announcement is viral and everyone will want a piece of the Wiimote online experience.
