The time is getting closer when you can turn your Nintendo Wii into a full blown media center, comparable to the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. No longer will music files, photos, and other media need to be left on your PC, soon you will be able to view them all on your TV, via the Nintendo Wii. A sly piece of software from X-oom will make it possible.
This software will enable you to link to any PC on your home network via the Wii’s WiFi connection. In addition to viewing video’s and other files streamed from your PC, the software will also grant you access to more than 1,000 TV channels and radio stations.
Compatible file Types:
- MP3
- WMA
- OGG
- DivX
- XviD
- MPEG 2
- MPEG 4
- WMV
- JPG
- BMP
The software should be available by the end of October 07. Pricing reportedly around $29.99 GBP.

Sounds like a kick ass peice of software! my only worry is will nintendo support this or will they block it with updates, also if they do block its use what kind of support will we get? free updates?

I’m sure Nintendo will not directly support it, however X-OOM should be able to release updates just the same to make it compatible.
As for free…yet to be seen.

indeed, i’d hope a patch at least would be available if ninty did disable its use.
USB 2.0 hard drive supprot would also rock.
