Nintendo is responding to consumer complaints, in regards to Wii shortages, by haulting all their advertising. I personally have seen a number of Wii game advertisements though, especially surrounding Mario Galaxy and the Godzilla Unleashed.
So, does it make you feel better that Nintendo has decided to pause promotion of the console? I think the buzz is sustaining enough to make any gamer want to get their hands on one, even if there is no ongoing advertising going on. The powers that be say that they will be focusing their efforts on the DS and pick up the Wii console ads after the New Year.

What would really help is if they stopped distributing them to stores that don’t agree to sell the consoles all “naked”, rather than as part of a stupid bundle of 8 or 10 games you probably don’t want. Then the next step would be to work out an agreement with eBay to set a maximum sale price of $325 shipped, to stop the profiteers. Then, maybe the only people buying them would be the customers that want them.

Isn’t it the truth. However, I really do think, even putting a max on ebay, there would still be shortages. The demand is just THAT high for this system, even a year later after launch.
As for bundling, it’s a big pain in the rear.
