New Zelda Wii in the Works

Hard to believe, but a new Zelda franchised game is already in the works for the Nintendo Wii. I would assume it’s roaring success has something to do with developers hurrying to release another title. Just because they are in a hurry does not mean that it’s going to be shotty work though…according to GameInformer’s sources the development has been going on for over a year.

“Our sources tell us that the next instalment in this series has been deep in development for around a year. It’s highly unlikely that Nintendo would release two Zelda games a year apart, but don’t be surprised if this game comes up sooner than you think,” reports the magazine.

Beat Zelda and start holding your breath for the next installment…shouldn’t be too far away. :)

Secret Wii Game

Popular gaming website IGN has recently fueled rumors that there is a new video game coming to town, that no one knows about. Matt always has plenty to say about the Nintendo Wii and as an industry insider gets first glance at a lot of projects. Is this another Wii rumor, or are we going to be treated to something real special?

Per Matt’s Blog on IGN:

Sometime during the next month, I will be playing a Wii game from a major publisher that none of you have any idea exists.

Thanksgiving Weekend Recap of Wii

Wii Sensor Bar HackWell, breaks over boys it’s back to work. I hope that everyone had a great extended weekend and that no one had to brave the crowds on Black Friday. But, anyway, time to report on some of the things that happened over the past 4 days and how it may impact your Wii.

For starters, there are plenty of rumors floating around about the Wii being hacked, that is you can play pirated games on the system. This rumor is not to be confused with the fact that you can hack the online browser to view the internet through the Wii shop option, or something to that effect. Of course, all these fun little tidbits for the Nintendo console leave a lot of empty handed individuals wanting.

Also over the weekend the Sensor Bar was ripped up  and it’s guts exposed. It’s no wonder Nintendo wanted to keep this news under wraps, after all it seems far less cool once you realize it’s smoke and mirrors. It works and that’s all that matters. ;)

DVD Wii On Its Way

According to gaming magazine Edge, upcoming Wii’s will playing DVD’s before you know it. If Nintendo has it’s way you can expect Wii’s capable of playing DVDs sometime in 07.

How is this going to affect Wii sales this Holiday season? I don’t think that most potential Wii buyers will be concerned with DVD playback, mainly because everyone has a DVD player already. In addition, DVD playback does not fit into Nintendo’s marketing plan to be the “second” console everyone buys. Let’s not forget PS3′s and Xbox 360′s are DVD ready. ;)

Lik-Sang Closes its Doors

As many of you are aware, Lik-Sang.com has closed it’s doors due to a lawsuit from Sony. We are working feverishly to bring our visitors a new source of Wii preorders.

Right now we are looking at PlayAsia.com as a potential supplier, but please stay tuned. For those that have preordered through LikSang, your business was appreciated and we’ll be bringing another source soon.

Stay tuned.

Toys R Us Wii Giveaway

It looks like the rumors are true, Toys R Us will be offering fans a chance to win a Nintendo Wii before the official launch. Toys R Us has teamed up with the game show Deal or No Deal to offer some 20,000 Wii’s to lucky winners on October 29th.

This once Wii rumor has been confirmed by our friends at Go Nintendo. The proof lies in the pages of the Toys R Us big toy catalog. ;)

Liksang Wii Preorder FAQ

I’ve received a number of emails from people asking about the Wii preorders that we offer through Liksang. Below are the most frequently asked Wii preorder questions. Are the Wii’s from Liksang region 1 (NTSC)?

  • Are the Wii’s from Liksang region 1 (NTSC)?

LikSang is located in Japan, however they distribute to all major countries. Meaning if you live in the US and preorder through Liksang, then your Wii will be region 1 and available on Nov 19th, the US launch date.

  • How much does it cost to preorder from Liksang?

It costs you nothing to preorder! As soon as the Wii is available in your region Liksang will contact you via email and request payment then. Once you have completed payment your Wii order will ship.

  • Will a preordered Wii from Liksang play American Games?

YES! Please refer to the first FAQ question.

  • Is Buy-Wii.net planning on becoming a direct distributor of Wii’s and Wii games?

We are currently negotiating with local companies to become a distributor of the gaming system. In addition we are planning to offer system bundles at prices that cannot be beat anywhere on the net.

  • Do you have proof that my Wii preorder will be meant for my region?

Yes, Buy-Wii has been in direct contact with the sales manager at Liksang.

  • Do I have to preorder a Wii?

You do not HAVE to, but its strongly recommended. Think back to other popular console launches, specifically the Xbox 360. In many areas of the country if you were not one who preordered it was up to 4 months after launch before you could get your hands on one.

Those are all the FAQ’s I can think of for now, if anyone has another question please feel free to comment here. I’ll do my best to answer the questions and communicate with my contact at Liksang if need be.

Wal-mart Wii Demo Rumor

Nintendo has officially announced the release of the Wii and it’s US price, however that does not stop the rumors from flying. Joystiq reported today that Wal-mart will not feature any demonstration units in it’s electronics department. Officially, Joystiq claims that no demo Wii units will be installed for the Q4 floor plan.

It’s a contradicting report, confirming in one sentence that there will be no units. However, in the next sentence they are unable to reach Wal-mart headquarters nor Nintendo. But why would Wal-mart consider not demonstrating potentially one of the greatest selling systems this season?

According to Joystiq Walmart is concerned with the well being of it’s patrons. The Wiimote being the largest concern, noting that kids would be flailing around during game play. Who’s gonna get hurt in this situation…probably Joystiq for starting silly rumors.

Japan Looking forward to Sept. 14th

It’s been announced by many Wii ambassadors that there will be a Wii party thrown by Nintendo on Sept. 14th. These parties will be all over the United States and rumored to be the place for launch details and pricing points. Although no guarantee has been made, there will be games available and systems to diddle with.

According to Nintendo of Japan they will be having a similar meeting of the minds on September 14th. Before today the US was the only ones lucky enough to take part in the debauchery, now Japan is looking forward to seeing some rumors cleared.
