Spore For Wii

Spore

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the developers of MySims and their next project Spore, which was announced to be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3. However, yesterday Will Wright confirmed that they are developing it for the Nintendo Wii as well.

During an interview he explained the mechanical difficulty behind developing a game for the 3 different systems. Essentially the game can be alike in terms of interaction, menus, navigation and control for the PS3 and 360, but not so for the Nintendo Wii. It’s possible this has been a reason for the delay in Spore’s release, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

Top 5 Unreleased Wii Games

As the holidays get closer, release dates for Wii games becomes a bigger concern. After all, developers want to jump on the holiday band wagon of shopping and hell, shoppers just want fun games for the holiday breaks. So, what are the top 5 games this holiday going to be, that aren’t out yet.

#5 – Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure

It’s a game about underwater monsters with teeth, survival of the fittest, and most importantly…IT’s Different! I admit I’m a sucker for anything unique, especially when it comes to a unique video game system like the Nintendo Wii.

#4 – Bomberman Land

Be honest, you remember playing this when you were younger on the NES. It’s simple, it’s fun, it’s puzzles, it’s explosions, it’s the perfect formula to a cold evening inside.  The problem, this won’t be available until after Christmas, so save the cash you get.
#3 – Battalion Wars 2

Blowing stuff up is always fun, but being able to blow stuff up with a HUGE arsenal is the best. Battalion Wars 2 is a real time strategy game that puts you in control of an arsenal of death dealing machines on the land, sea, and air. Come get some.

#2 – Manhunt 2

You know you want a piece of the bloody masterpiece. It’s a testament to the taboo, if there is controversy around it, chances are people will want to spend money on it. The goodnews is that this scary title will be available soon enough to play on Halloween.

#1 -  Super Mario Galaxy

Duh, you knew this would be number 1. It’ll be the first REAL Mario adventure since the release of the N64, because Mario Sunshine just does not count(i’m sorry). The videos of our plumber friend jumping in 3d landscapes and putting on new costumes has Mario fans foaming at the mouth. A full year after the release of the Nintendo Wii, you’ll have to wait until November 20th to get your hands on this hot release. I’d suggest preordering. ;)

Smackdown Vs Raw for Wii

 Smackdown Vs Raw For Wii

Wrestling fans rejoice, THQ will be bringing the popular WWE franchise to the Nintendo Wii this fall. Smackdown VS Raw will be available on November 13, 2007 and come packed with plenty of hard slamming features.

 Smackdown Vs Raw Features

  •  The heart of the Smackdown! Series is the Season-Story mode with the addition of authentic Superstar VO and commentary.
  • For the first time ever in a WWE game, fans can compete online in head-to-head action.
  • New storylines with bigger double-crosses and over-the-top surprises.
  • Create a Championship Belt and then set up your own PPV to defend it. Be careful – lose a match and lose your Championship, as it will transfer to the other player’s memory card!
  • New WWE Legends, including one of the all-time greats, Andre the Giant!

This will definitely be a Wii wrestling title ‘MUST HAVE’ this holiday and I can feel my inner redneck getting all excited. Not only can you play the usual wrestling type game, but you can also choose how you fight. Imagine, fighting dirty to win the match, oblivious to how the crowd feels. Or, play it by the rules and show boat your way into the hearts of WWE fandom. You choose.

Use USB Keyboard with Wii

Wii KeyboardThe latest firmware update for your Nintendo Wii enables the ability to utilize a USB keyboard with your Wii console. Although that doesn’t really effect your game playing, it does effect the Wii’s ability to take over as a media center. If your Wii is connected to the internet this update should automatically download or prompt you to do so.

Being able to use a keyboard and surf the internet with the Wii Opera Browser makes for some good entertainment. Imagine entertaining your friends with YouTube videos via your Wii and on your living room TV! The USB ports for the Nintendo Wii are on the back, but with a long wired keyboard, or *gasp* wireless setup you could be on your way to living large.

No Wii Price Cut For Holidays

No Wii Price CutIt’s routine for gaming manufacturers to drop the price of consoles 1 year after their release for the holidays. Already the PS3 has dropped it’s price and the Xbox360 has lowered their main console bundle by $50. Although routine, it would appear it’s necessary to keep up with the runaway success of the Nintendo Wii.

Senior Vice President of Nintendo Marketing has told the popular news source Reuters that they (Nintendo) has no plans on decreasing the price of their console. The suggest retail of the system has, is, and will remain at $250, but good luck finding one at that price. The demand for the system has persisted and it takes luck to snag one at that price, otherwise you should just suck it up and pay markup on them online. eBay and our own Wii Store is a great source.

Right Now Buy-Wii.net has Wii Consoles instock (new and used) starting at $359.95 . Click Here!

This holiday it will be easier than ever to find that perfect racing game for the adrenaline junky in your life. Popcorn Arcade is planning on release three new Wii games before the end of 07 and they all look like a blast. Expect variations from matchbox car racing to monster truck racing available hopefully sometime by the end of October.

Me, I had a blast with Excite Truck, so I’m sure I’ll have a blast with these upcoming titles. They don’t seem to be so serious about themselves to take away from the fun factor and that’s exactly what I’m looking for in a Wii game.
